Holiday Happenings

Hello and Seasons Greetings, everyone!

Just a reminder that Luminary Night is this Sunday, December 20th (not Saturday, the 19th). You should be getting your kit in the mail soon and buckets of sand are already out on the corners. Start as early as 4:30pm, but let's all try to have them lit by 4:45pm...then walk or drive around to see how beautiful it is!! Hopefully they'll even be some mingling and merry making, impromptu gatherings or carolling!! Thanks so much for your participation, it is so cool to see what we can do when we all come together with a common cause:) PS. Also remember to dispose of your bags the next day if possible.

Thanks again for understanding about this year's cancelled holiday party. Despite the hard working efforts of our subcommittee, it just wasn't going to work this year. We're sorry! Our location, the Union Grove is not available...it has been shut down and probably being put up for sale.  A lot of the the other venues we investigated in and around Kingston were either unavailable for the right date, too expensive, or the wrong sized room. And we also weren't sure in general whether neighbors would want to drive to the party (on a school night) instead of just walking down the street. We'll rethink things for next year!

We hope this is not too disheartening.  In an effort to keep the social calendar going, the subcommittee has offered to keep working and pull together either a winter event in late February/early March of 2016 or perhaps an early summer block party in June. Feel free to comment here on which type of event you'd prefer!! (We'll keep you updated!)
See you on Sunday night for the luminaries and have a wonderful holiday!!! Happy New Year too:)
